Case analysis of fire hazards in gas stations and rectification measures

at the end of 2001, Jinzhou Fire Bureau conducted a fire inspection on Jinhua gas station, found a number of fire hazards, and issued a "notice on rectification of fire hazards", requiring rectification within a time limit. In this regard, through a detailed analysis of the fire hazards of gas stations, we put forward specific measures to rectify the hazards, which has improved the safety and reliability of gas stations

I. Analysis of fire hazards in gas stations

Jinhua gas station is mainly composed of underground horizontal oil storage tanks, refueling islands, oil unloading yards and station buildings, with obsolete equipment, backward technology and imperfect safety facilities. The fire hazards of gas stations are mainly manifested in the leakage and accumulation of oil vapor, reaching a certain concentration, and causing combustion and explosion accidents when encountering ignition sources

II. Causes of oil vapor leakage and accumulation

(1) using the traditional refueling method, a large amount of oil vapor leakage or improper operation during refueling make the oil spill

(2) when unloading oil, insert the oil unloading pipe directly into the oil tank mouth to unload oil, and a large amount of oil vapor escapes from the oil unloading mouth

(3) the oil tank overflowed, and the liquid level of the oil tank was not monitored in time during oil unloading, resulting in oil spilling

(4) oil leakage may occur in oil tanks and oil pipelines due to corrosion, manufacturing defects, flange failure, etc

(5) the oil drops to the ground and volatilizes due to the rupture of the oil unloading hose, the damage of the sealing gasket, and the loosening of the fastening bolt of the quick interface

(6) because the density of oil vapor is higher than that of air, it is easy to accumulate in low-lying places such as pipe trenches under poor ventilation

III. ignition source

(1) electrostatic spark. The cause of static electricity is that there is no electrostatic grounding device for oil storage tanks, oil pipelines, oil tank trucks, etc., or the grounding wire is damaged, the grounding resistance does not meet the requirements, and the splash type is used during oil unloading

(2) electrical sparks, non explosion-proof electrical equipment used in dangerous areas of gas stations

(3) lightning sparks and lightning protection facilities do not meet the requirements, which greatly reduces the probability of screen breakage and meets the requirements

(4) poor open fire management, drivers and passengers who come to the gas station smoke in the station or relevant personnel carry out illegal hot work, etc

once these ignition sources appear in the oil leakage and enrichment area of the gas station, when the oil vapor reaches a certain degree, combustion and explosion accidents may occur, becoming a potential fire hazard of the gas station

IV. measures for rectification of fire hazards

the rectification of fire hazards in gas stations is mainly from two aspects: dare to think, dare to try, dare to break through and consider, first, prevent the escape and leakage of oil vapor; Second, eliminate ignition sources

1. Prevent the escape and leakage of oil vapor

prevent the escape and leakage of oil vapor is the top priority of the rectification of fire hazards. The specific rectification measures are as follows:

(1) use the sealed refueling technology. When refueling in an open position, the refueling gun takes oil as a universal experimental machine. When the manufacturer injects oil into the automotive fuel tank for after-sales, the oil vapor also leaks from the fuel tank to the atmosphere, promoting the transformation and upgrading of high-tech manufacturing industry, Cause oil vapor enrichment. Sealed refueling is to make the oil vapor return to the oil tank or oil and gas recovery device through the gas phase pipe to prevent the oil vapor from escaping

(2) the closed oil unloading technology is adopted. Gas phase pipes are installed on the oil tank truck and oil storage tank. At the same time of oil unloading, the oil vapor in the oil tank is returned to the oil tank truck for oil gas replacement to avoid the vapor in the oil tank escaping from the breathing tube
